Roberto Cavallo launches 349 km eco-run to collect waste
Eco-runner Roberto Cavallo has launched the ‘Keep Clean and Run for peace 2026’ initiative, a national project aimed at environmental awareness and waste collection. The event involves a 349-kilometer run through the Italian regions of Campania, Puglia, and Basilicata, passing through 30 different municipalities.
Starting from Benevento, the first stage concludes in Celle di San Vito, the smallest municipality in Puglia. Throughout the journey, which is scheduled to end in Bari on October 3, Cavallo will collect abandoned waste along the route with the support of local communities, schools, and associations.
Cavallo, who serves as the ecological transition councilor for the municipality of Alba and is a European Commission climate ambassador, is organizing the event alongside the company ‘Erica’ and the International Association for Environmental Communication (AICA). The initiative has received patronage from several Italian government bodies, including the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security.
