Roberto Garza Sánchez wins gold at National Taekwondo Tournament

Roberto Garza Sánchez, a student from the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) Faculty of Engineering and Sciences, won the gold medal at the 35th National G3 Taekwondo Tournament 2026. The competition took place from October 16 to 18 in Gómez Palacio, Durango.

Competing in the -80 kilogram combat category, Garza Sánchez defeated a representative from Nuevo León in the final to secure first place. The event, held at the Auditorio Centenario, brought together more than 1,200 practitioners from 25 different Mexican states.

This victory allows the athlete to accumulate points in the Mexican Taekwondo Federation ranking, supporting his preparation for future national competitions.
