Roberto Lavagna rules out candidacy and warns of economic risks
Former Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna has ruled out running for political office, while offering a critical assessment of Argentina's current economic landscape. Lavagna noted that the country's situation would be significantly different without the Vaca Muerta energy resource.
He expressed concern regarding the decline in productive investment and warned that the automotive industry faces grave risks in Argentina, suggesting that Brazil has been more successful in attracting electric vehicle manufacturing. Lavagna characterized Argentina's current state as a process of ‘de-development,’ where previously established productive and scientific-technological structures are being dismantled.
In separate corporate news, Ternium, the flat steel producer of the Techint Group, celebrated 20 years of trading on Wall Street. The company currently maintains 20 production centers and operates in Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia.
