Roberto Martinez in talks with Al‑Nassr as Portugal plans new coach after 2026 World Cup

Portugal’s national team manager Roberto Martinez, who will lead the side at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is reportedly negotiating a move to Saudi Arabian club Al‑Nassr. The Ronaldo‑led side is interested in appointing the 71‑year‑old former Belgium boss, who would become Al‑Nassr’s head coach for the first time since May 2016 after his contract with Portugal ends in June.

The Portuguese Football Federation has already begun planning Martinez’s successor, with a shortlist that includes former Al‑Nassr coach Jorge Jesus, Palmeiras‑winning Abel Ferreira and former Benfica boss Sérgio Conceição. Martinez is expected to depart after the World Cup, while Al‑Nassr also weighs other candidates for the role.
