Roberto Menescal honored in Bossa Nova special on TV Brasil

Musician Roberto Menescal will be honored in a special episode of the program ‘Cena Musical’ on TV Brasil. The performance, titled ‘O Lado B da Bossa’, celebrates the artist’s career ahead of his 89th birthday on October 25.

Recorded in August at the BNDES Cultural Space in Rio de Janeiro, the show features Menescal performing alongside singer Cris Delanno and her trio. The repertoire is based on their 2026 collaborative album and blends well-known Bossa Nova classics such as ‘O Barquinho’, ‘Corcovado’, and ‘Chega de Saudade’ with lesser-known tracks and new arrangements.

The special highlights the long-standing artistic partnership between Menescal and Delanno, which dates back to the late 1980s. The program aims to showcase the diversity of the Bossa Nova genre through both historical works and more obscure compositions.
