Roberto Occhiuto outlines liberal agenda for center-right and Calabria
Roberto Occhiuto, President of the Calabria Region and Vice Secretary of Forza Italia, has outlined a political vision focused on liberal principles and regional reform. In his recent book, “Il coraggio di governare,” Occhiuto reflects on his personal background and the resilience required to address long-standing issues in Calabria, such as waste management, the reduction of precarious employment, and the management of regional airports.
Beyond regional governance, Occhiuto has proposed a political agenda for the Italian center-right. He argues that the coalition should avoid reacting to radical right-wing movements like that of Roberto Vannacci and instead focus on a platform of European integration, economic growth, and reduced bureaucracy. His proposals include legal immigration channels for workers, a “no tax area” for citizens under 35, and addressing civil rights issues such as end-of-life legislation. He calls for Forza Italia to reconnect with liberals, reformers, and entrepreneurs to ensure a viable governing program.
