Roberto Palazuelos blames Luis Miguel biopic for ending their friendship

Mexican actor and entrepreneur Roberto Palazuelos explained that his long‑standing personal distance from singer Luis Miguel resulted from the Netflix biographical series about the singer. In an interview on the TV program La Mesa Caliente, Palazuelos said the series altered real events, invented dialogues and dramatized situations that injured him and several people in their shared circle.

He recalled that he and Luis Miguel had been close friends since their youth in Acapulco during the 1980s, part of a celebrity group that also included Alejandro Basteri (Luis Miguel’s brother), Isabella Camil and Jorge Van Rankin. Palazuelos asserted that the fictionalized portrayals in the series caused personal hurt and led them to cease communication, stating, “The series was what separated us; many lies were invented and many people were hurt.”
