Roberto Payán receives machinery to improve road infrastructure

Heavy machinery has been delivered to Roberto Payán to strengthen road infrastructure as part of the RenHacemos program. This initiative, led by the Dirección de Sustitución de Cultivos de Uso Ilícito, aims to support communities transitioning from illicit crops to legal productive projects.

The machinery will be used to repair critical points on the road connecting Roberto Payán with Tumaco. This corridor is essential for rural communities to transport and market legal products such as cacao, plantain, coconut, sugarcane, and chili.

Currently, more than 2,000 families in the municipality are implementing productive projects following their enrollment in the crop substitution process. Improving the road infrastructure is considered a key factor in ensuring the long-term sustainability of these legal economies.
