Roberto Razuk, former Mato Grosso do Sul deputy, dies at 85
Former state deputy Roberto Razuk has died at the age of 85 following a pulmonary infection. He passed away while in induced coma at the Hospital Sírio-Libanês in São Paulo, where he had been receiving palliative care.
Razuk served two consecutive terms in the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul (ALEMS) between 1987 and 1995. He was a member of the State Constituent Assembly that drafted the state constitution in 1989 and was a proponent for the creation of the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS).
His political legacy is intertwined with his family, including his wife, former Dourados mayor Délia Razuk, and his son, former state deputy Roberto Razuk Filho.
In recent years, Razuk was involved in the 'Operação Sucessione' investigation led by Gaeco, which looked into allegations of organized crime, corruption, and illegal gambling. Due to his advanced age and health status, he had been serving his sentence under house arrest with an electronic monitor. Following his death, legal proceedings specifically regarding Razuk will be closed, though investigations into other involved parties continue.
