Roberto Rossetto, founder of Italy’s Rossetto supermarkets, dies at 80

Roberto Rossetto, aged 80, died in Verona. He co‑founded the family‑run Rossetto supermarket chain with his brothers in 1965, starting from two shops on Corso Milano. The group now operates 29 stores across Veneto, Lombardy and Emilia‑Romagna.

He was honoured in 2025 with the Domus Mercatorum award from the Verona Chamber of Commerce as entrepreneur of the year. The funeral is scheduled for 5 August at San Massimo parish, with his brother Lorenzo Rossetto, now CEO, speaking about the family’s continued involvement, including the third generation.
