Roberto Vannacci and Fratelli d'Italia respond to local incidents
In Italy, political tensions have escalated following two separate incidents involving public figures and local violence. Former general Roberto Vannacci, leader of Futuro Nazionale, publicly criticized an individual captured on social media performing a closed-fist salute in front of the Basovizza Foiba memorial. Vannacci accused the individual of threatening him and disrespecting the memory of Italians killed by the Yugoslav army, suggesting legal violations including incitement to violence and contempt for the deceased. The Unione Istriani has announced intentions to file a formal complaint regarding the incident.
Separately, in Portomaggiore, the political party Fratelli d'Italia organized a demonstration of solidarity following an assault on a 59-year-old woman. The victim, who sustained a head injury requiring 14 days of medical prognosis, was reportedly attacked by a Moroccan national while walking her dog. Party representatives, including Mauro Malaguti and Roberto Badolato, used the event to reaffirm the primacy of Italian law. Roberto Vannacci is expected to visit the area as part of ongoing political initiatives related to the case.
