Roberto Vannacci Calls for Deportation of Irregular Migrants in Italy

Roberto Vannacci, leader of the nascent Futuro Nazionale party, told La7 that irregular migrants should be deported. He emphasized the use of existing bilateral return agreements and the EU “safe third‑country” decree to move migrants to countries that will accept them before onward relocation to their origin.

Vannacci argued that unchecked immigration strains public finances, noting that many migrants work undocumented and pay few taxes. He criticized the current centre‑right coalition for hesitating on immigration measures and said his party, which has recently enrolled 100,000 members, will present its programme at a constituent assembly ahead of upcoming elections. He also expressed disappointment that flagship reforms proposed by the government – differentiated autonomy, a premierate, and justice reform – have not been enacted.
