Roberto Vannacci drives Futuro Nazionale toward Milan mayoral race
Senator Alessandro Morelli of the Lega criticised Futuro Nazionale leader Roberto Vannacci, calling him “the best ally of the left” after the movement announced it will present its own mayoral candidate for Milan’s 2027 municipal elections. Vannacci said the candidacy will focus on public safety and that the party aims to make Milan “more livable”.
Vannacci told reporters the movement’s polling stands at 4.8% but he targets a double‑digit vote, saying street‑level canvassing in Sicily shows stronger support. He highlighted rapid growth to about 90,000 members in three months, noted he has not spoken with centre‑right leaders Matteo Salvini or Giorgia Meloni, and warned other parties not to ignore Futuro Nazionale.
