Roberto Vannacci expands Futuro Nazionale in Southern Italy

Futuro Nazionale, the party founded by General Roberto Vannacci on 3 February 2026, has activated local committees in Bari, Lecce, Brindisi, Taranto and Foggia. In Taranto the party presented former municipal councilor Francesco Battista at the Plaza Hotel and Vannacci, a former Lega vice‑secretary, previously endorsed the Prima Taranto mayoral list in a video supporting candidate Francesco Tacente.

The movement describes itself as a response to a perceived void on the right in Taranto, defending traditional family values and national identity. Vannacci’s shift from Lega to an autonomous right‑wing formation is framed as a significant step in his political trajectory, with the party aiming to start from the Ionian capital and expand throughout Puglia before contesting national elections.

In Messina, Vannacci inaugurated Futuro Nazionale’s new headquarters on via Gagini after a stop in Milazzo, addressing a crowd of about two hundred, many of whom were former army officers and police. He declared the party ready to replace the right in the city, promised participation in the 2027 regional elections if called, endorsed the Strait Bridge project, and took a hard line on illegal immigration, stating “they have to go back to their homes.” He also dismissed Cateno De Luca as “just a mayor of Taormina.”
