Roberto Vannacci heads Futuro Nazionale, attacks media and rivals in Italy

Roberto Vannacci, a former Lega member of the European Parliament, now leads the right‑wing movement Futuro Nazionale. In a recent assembly he publicly named several journalists from La Repubblica, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Il Foglio and TV personalities, then thanked them sarcastically, claiming the "infiltration" of the press was already underway.

Vannacci used harsh rhetoric against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the broader centre‑right, while also accusing the centre‑left of using him as a "useful idiot" to destabilise their own coalition. He reiterated his movement’s hard‑line positions on immigration and security, stating that Futuro Nazionale holds about 5 % of voter support and will steer the centre‑right “in the right direction.”
