Roberto Vannacci Leads Far‑Right Futuro Nazionale Assembly in Rome

Former army general Roberto Vannacci opened the inaugural assembly of the Futuro Nazionale movement at the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome. Around 2,000 supporters filled the venue amid chaotic entry procedures managed by Vannacci’s aides. In his speech Vannacci repeated nationalist slogans such as “Italia agli italiani,” condemned globalist policies, and dismissed accusations of Russian financing, joking about a villa in Crimea. He also attacked centre‑right parties, warning they were “allies of the left” and rejecting any alliance with the Draghi‑Von der Leyen agenda.

The event was marked by confrontations with journalists and the recitation of a French parachutist’s prayer. Within days, local councilor Maria Ciaccia from Brindisi left Forza Italia to join Futuro Nazionale, only to announce her return to Forza Italia three days later, citing responsibility to her constituents.

Vannacci’s rhetoric emphasized “remigration” and sovereignty, positioning Futuro Nazionale as a “guardians of sovereignty” movement distinct from mainstream right‑wing parties.
