Robert’s Comfort Food to Open at Former Bob Evans Site in Evansville

Owner Robert Russell announced that his restaurant Robert’s By The River will reopen under the new name Robert’s Comfort Food at the former Bob Evans building, 1125 N. Green River Road, on Evansville’s east side. The move follows the closure of the downtown Evansville location in September 2025. Russell said the new venue will keep the same homemade comfort‑food menu, local butcher‑sourced meats and fresh ingredients, while adding a few specialty dishes. The restaurant plans to serve lunch and dinner on weekdays, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturdays, and an all‑day brunch on Sundays. Opening is slated for early August 2026, with further details on the grand opening date and menu to be released later.
