Robin Wall Kimmerer releases new book ‘The Serviceberry’

Indigenous botanist and bestselling author Robin Wall Kimmerer has released a new book titled ‘The Serviceberry’ (Scribner). The work explores themes of gratitude and reciprocity in human relationships with the natural world.

Building on the themes of her previous bestseller, ‘Braiding Sweetgrass’, Kimmerer discusses how Indigenous cultures, such as the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee, organize lifeways around the recognition of and responsibility for earthly gifts. The book emphasizes the importance of recognizing the interconnectedness of nature, from the role of microbes and pollinators to the impact of human stewardship.
