Robinhood Chain generates $6.6 million in August gas revenue
Robinhood Chain generated approximately $6.6 million in gas revenue during August following its July 1 public mainnet launch. The network, which utilizes Arbitrum technology, saw decentralized exchange volume reach $1.5 billion and total value locked rise to $711 million. Robinhood operates the chain’s sequencer and retains about 90% of transaction fees, resulting in a net revenue of roughly $6 million after Ethereum settlement costs and licensing payments.
Activity on the network included significant growth in USDG deposits via Morpho lending markets, which rose from $9.5 million in July to $456 million by the end of August. Additionally, meme-token activity increased, with over 340,000 tokens issued by late August. While trading volume for meme tokens paired with Robinhood Stock Tokens reached $518 million, these stock tokens are unavailable to U.S. persons.
In a related development for the DeFi ecosystem, the Aero protocol is scheduled to launch across seven chains on October 21. Developed by Dromos Labs, Aero will consolidate Aerodrome Finance and Velodrome Finance into a unified liquidity layer. The initial rollout includes Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum, alongside Base, Ethereum Mainnet, Arc, OP Mainnet, and Ink. The protocol aims to support cross-chain swaps and liquidity for stablecoins and tokenized assets using a ve(3,3)-style governance model.
