Robinhood Chain reaches $1.3 billion in total value locked
Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network built on the Arbitrum framework, has experienced rapid growth following its public mainnet launch on July 1. Within approximately six weeks, the network has reached over $1.3 billion in total value locked (TVL) and surpassed 420,000 real-world asset (RWA) holders.
Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood’s head of crypto and international businesses, described the network’s strategy as a balance between serious financial products, such as tokenized equities and derivatives, and the memecoins that drive user attention. The chain allows users to trade tokenized versions of stocks from companies like NVIDIA and Apple, as well as perpetual futures and stablecoins.
Unlike many other Layer 2 networks, Robinhood Chain does not utilize a native token to incentivize activity. Instead, growth appears driven by organic demand for tokenized assets and DeFi integrations, such as the lending protocol Morpho, which enables users to use tokenized stock positions as collateral. The network has already processed more than 200 million transactions.
