Robinhood partners with Crypto.com to expand prediction markets

Robinhood Markets has entered a multi-year strategic partnership with Crypto.com and its prediction-market platform, OG.com, to expand its event contract offerings. Under the agreement, Robinhood will route selected event contracts, including football-related derivatives, through OG.com using Crypto.com’s U.S. derivatives exchange and clearinghouse, which is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Beyond the routing arrangement, Robinhood will acquire equity stakes in both Crypto.com and OG.com. The equity pricing is expected to align with recent investments in Crypto.com Group at a $20 billion valuation. This move aims to diversify Robinhood’s execution venues, which currently include Kalshi, ForecastEx, and Rothera.

Separately, Robinhood’s proprietary blockchain has seen significant growth, generating approximately $33 million in trading fees over a 15-day period in September. This performance surpassed the fees collected by Solana and BNB Chain during the same timeframe, driven largely by memecoin activity and tokenized stock holdings.

In August, Robinhood reported a 61% month-over-month increase in cryptocurrency nominal trading volume, reaching $17.5 billion, though this was down 38% compared to the same month last year.
