Robinhood Chain sees rapid growth via tokenized assets and DeFi

Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network built on Arbitrum Orbit technology, has experienced rapid growth since its July 1, 2026, launch. The network focuses on blending decentralized finance with traditional finance by offering tokenized stocks and ETFs. Its Total Value Locked (TVL) has reached nearly $1 billion, with daily decentralized exchange (DEX) volume hitting $1.88 billion, accounting for over half of all volume on Uniswap.

Analysts attribute this traction to four primary drivers: Robinhood’s brand recognition, the chain’s permissionless design, subsidized gas fees for swaps above $5, and a unique flywheel effect between memecoins and tokenized equities. This flywheel is exemplified by platforms like Long.xyz, which allow community tokens to launch paired with tokenized stocks.

As the network expands, community-built explorer sites known as ‘RobinScan’ have emerged to provide independent on-chain activity tracking, such as whale monitoring and DeFi integrations. While the chain utilizes ETH for gas and settles to Ethereum, much of its current growth is being driven by crypto-native users rather than the existing Robinhood app user base.
