Robinhood Chain’s tokenized QQQ fuels 288% July volume surge as crypto token unlocks loom
Tokenized equity trading on Robinhood Chain saw a dramatic rise in July 2026, with overall volume on decentralized secondary markets increasing 288% month‑over‑month. The surge was driven almost entirely by a single product, the tokenized QQQ tracker (QQQB), which accounted for the majority of the trading activity. Robinhood Chain subsidized gas fees on its Arbitrum‑based rollup to lower costs, but the subsidy is set to expire at the end of September, creating a test of sustained demand.
At the same time, the broader crypto market is preparing for a wave of token unlocks between August 3 and September 3, releasing more than $1.28 billion worth of tokens. Major one‑time unlocks include YZY, PROVE, and AVAX, while linear unlocks feature RAIN and Solana (SOL), among others. These releases could add significant supply to the market and influence price dynamics.
Traditional exchanges are also entering the space by offering stock perpetual futures, and the DTCC plans a full tokenized‑securities launch in October, which may validate or challenge Robinhood Chain’s retail‑focused model.
