Robinhood expands into private markets and blockchain liquidity

Robinhood has expanded its presence in both private markets and blockchain technology. The company’s second private markets fund, Robinhood Ventures Fund II (RVII), began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on August 13. Structured as a business development company, the fund raised approximately $225.5 million and focuses on early-stage startups, including those from Y Combinator. Notably, the fund offers daily liquidity and removes traditional accreditation requirements for retail investors.

Simultaneously, the Robinhood Chain has reached nearly $1 billion in total value locked (TVL), according to analysis from Standard Chartered. The blockchain’s liquidity is largely supported through Uniswap, which has facilitated rapid growth since the chain's July 1 launch. This partnership has also significantly impacted Uniswap’s token economics, with fees generated through Robinhood becoming a major driver for UNI token burns.
