Robinhood launches AI-driven autonomous trading and credit services

Robinhood announced the rollout of "Agentic Trading" and "Agentic Credit Card," platforms that let user‑controlled AI agents execute stock trades and make purchases autonomously. The service creates a separate AI‑only brokerage account with budget limits, offers real‑time monitoring, manual approval options and an instant‑disconnect feature to keep final control with the user. The company plans to expand the trading scope beyond equities to options, crypto and futures.

Within weeks, 50,000 retail investors had opened agentic trading accounts, signaling rapid adoption of AI‑powered bots on the platform. Observers note that such scale could reshape order flow, liquidity and market dynamics, while also raising regulatory questions about accountability, transparency and systemic risk. Robinhood’s CEO Vlad Tenev framed the move as extending the firm’s mission of financial democratization into the AI domain.
