Robinhood lists MORPHO token to expand DeFi lending exposure

Robinhood has listed the MORPHO token for trading, providing its retail user base with direct exposure to the decentralized finance (DeFi) lending protocol. Morpho serves as the underlying infrastructure for Robinhood Earn, a self-custody yield product that allows certain US customers to lend the USDG stablecoin through Morpho vaults on the Robinhood Chain, targeting approximately 7% APY.

Morpho has reported over $11 billion in deposits and has generated millions in fees. Following the integration of Morpho into Robinhood Earn, total value locked on the Robinhood Chain saw inflows exceeding $500 million within a single month. The Robinhood Earn product also includes risk insurance through partnerships with Lloyd’s of London and RELM.

While the listing may attract institutional interest, analysts note a potential risk of concentration, as a significant portion of Morpho’s total value locked and user growth is currently tied to Robinhood’s platform. Morpho operates as a permissionless lending protocol, utilizing Morpho Blue for isolated markets and Morpho Midnight for fixed-rate, fixed-term markets.
