Robinhood Markets' event‑contract revenue jumps to $156 million

Robinhood Markets' event‑contract business expanded dramatically, generating about $156 million in transaction revenue in the second quarter of 2026, up from roughly $10 million a year earlier. The segment now accounts for about 20 % of the broker’s total transaction revenue, second only to options, which produced $342 million in the same period. At the same time, revenue from the firm’s crypto trading fell sharply, declining 38 % year‑over‑year and 25 % sequentially.

Institutional investors also reshuffled their positions in Robinhood. Empowered Funds LLC sold 33,268 shares, cutting its holding by 25.2 % to 98,580 shares valued at about $6.8 million. Conversely, State Street Corp increased its stake by 103.2 % to over 32 million shares worth $4.6 billion. Norges Bank added a new stake worth roughly $1.2 billion, while Corient Private Wealth, Jennison Associates, and Morgan Stanley each raised their holdings by several million shares. Institutional investors now own roughly 93 % of Robinhood’s outstanding stock.
