Robinhood Markets' popularity rises as AI chip maker AMD joins top‑held stock list

Robinhood Markets, the popular brokerage for retail investors, regularly publishes its list of the ten most widely held stocks on its platform. The list has long featured AI‑related giants such as Nvidia, Tesla and Palantir, and it now includes Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) after a surge in demand for AI‑focused central processing units (CPUs). AMD’s data‑center division reported a 57% year‑over‑year revenue jump to about $5.7 billion, driven by CPU demand for “agentic AI” workloads, and its stock has risen roughly 154% this year.

Robinhood serves over 27 million funded accounts worldwide and posted revenue of $4.5 billion last year, up from $1.9 billion two years earlier. The platform offers commission‑free trading, fractional shares, crypto, prediction markets and a growing suite of wealth‑management tools. With about 75% of its users‑base made up of Millennials and Gen Z, Robinhood is positioning itself to capture a large share of the estimated $80 trillion wealth transfer expected in coming decades. The firm recently acquired TradePMR to expand advisory services and continues to target growth in both its core brokerage and emerging product lines.
