Robinhood shares slip after insider sale as crypto chain volume plunges
Robinhood Markets Inc. saw its stock fall 2.3% to $90.71 after insider Daniel Martin Gallagher Jr. sold 10,000 shares at an average price of $90.42, reducing his holding to about 461,396 shares valued at roughly $41.7 million. The sale was disclosed in an SEC filing and executed under a Rule 10b5‑1 plan.
Meanwhile, Robinhood Chain’s decentralized exchange volume dropped about 72% from its July peak of $878 million to a range of $500‑700 million daily, even as total value locked rose to around $775 million and stablecoin supply hit a record $575 million. The chain, launched on July 1 and built on Arbitrum’s Layer‑2 technology, recorded over 100 million cumulative transactions and a surge in tokenized real‑world assets.
Both developments highlight divergent trends within Robinhood’s expanding platform, with equity market pressures alongside growing activity in its crypto ecosystem.
