Robinson Tours Cancels Hungarian Charter Flights Hours Before Departure
Robinson Tours, a travel agency specializing in tours to Bulgaria, Albania and Montenegro, sent a brief SMS to Hungarian customers on the eve of their scheduled departure on 2 August 2026, announcing that the charter flight from Budapest would not operate. The agency cited the airline’s inability to fly and over‑booked hotels as reasons, and said all affected passengers would be returned by bus and would receive a full refund.
Customers reported that after the message they could not reach the company’s call centre, described the incident as a "massive fraud" and claimed losses amounting to millions of euros. One traveller, Szabó Flóra Bernadett, said the hotel had confirmed the booking had already been cancelled by Robinson Tours. The abrupt cancellations left dozens of Hungarian tourists stranded and forced to endure a nearly 24‑hour bus journey instead of a short flight.
