Roblox access restored in Turkey after 680‑day ban

Turkey’s Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that the online gaming platform Roblox has been reinstated after a court‑ordered block that lasted roughly 680 days. Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş emphasized that the government’s goal is to monitor rather than ban such services, stating, “Our aim is not to ban but to monitor. We are open to those who meet the safety conditions.”

The original restriction stemmed from a local court decision following a petition over child‑safety concerns. Roblox has now implemented age‑verification systems and stronger parental‑control tools to comply with new Turkish regulations, allowing direct access without additional software. The ministry also indicated that future official requests will be evaluated under the updated oversight framework.

With more than 100,000 Turkish users, the platform’s reopening is expected to benefit young gamers while ensuring tighter content review and age‑appropriate access.
