Roblox launches AI‑powered Build tool for mobile game creation
Roblox announced Build, an AI‑driven feature integrated into its mobile app that turns simple text prompts into playable game prototypes. The tool generates gameplay mechanics, environments, characters, visual style and sound without requiring coding, and is linked to the existing Roblox Studio backend so creators can start on a phone and continue on a computer.
The public alpha begins on July 28 2026 in New Zealand for age‑verified users aged 9 and older. Games that pass Roblox’s safety checks can be published globally for users aged 16 and above. A basic version of Build will be free, with optional paid tiers for advanced creators. Roblox also plans to roll out AI agents for automated playtesting, analytics and experimental tweaking in the coming months.
