Robotics firms expand international presence in Brazil and Portugal

Robotics companies are expanding their presence in international markets, specifically in Brazil and Portugal.

AiMOGA, the robotics division of Chery International, has entered the Brazilian market. The company plans to launch Mornine, a humanoid robot designed for OMODA & JAECOO dealerships to assist customers, and Argos, a robotic dog for the general public, by the end of 2026. Mornine utilizes 3D LiDAR sensors, cameras, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to navigate autonomously and interact with users. Brazil is viewed as a strategic gateway to the Latin American market.

In Portugal, SDATA AI has partnered with Shanghai-based AGIBOT to introduce humanoid robots to the local industrial sector. AGIBOT, founded by former Huawei engineers, was recognized as a market leader in humanoid robot sales in early 2026. The partnership aims to integrate various models, including the AGIBOT A2 for complex tasks and the D1 quadruped for inspections, into commercial and industrial workflows. Experts note that while these robots can currently perform approximately 80% of human tasks, data richness is expected to improve fluidity and performance over the next two to three years.
