Rocca di Maioletto search operation yields no results

Emergency services conducted a search operation near the Rocca di Maioletto following a report of a person in distress. The alert was received around 6:15 PM on Wednesday, September 23, after a caller claimed to see an unidentified individual waving a flag to attract attention near the cliff.

Search teams including the Carabinieri, Firefighters, and 118 medical personnel were deployed, supported by a mountain rescue helicopter that inspected the area from above. Despite these efforts, no person in need of assistance was found by ground teams or aerial reconnaissance.

Authorities are investigating the origin of the report to determine if it was a false alarm or a misunderstanding. It is noted that a flag is normally present and waving at the Rocca di Maioletto, which may have caused the confusion.
