Rocca Varano reopens in Camerino after ten years

Rocca Varano, a symbolic historical landmark in Camerino, has reopened to the public after being closed for ten years due to damage caused by the 2016 earthquake. The reopening ceremony was attended by local and regional authorities, including Camerino Mayor Roberto Lucarelli, Marche Region President Francesco Acquaroli, and Reconstruction Commissioner Guido Castelli.

The restoration project involved a total investment of 853,000 euros, with 750,000 euros provided by the Marche Region through a fund dedicated to the redevelopment of public spaces in inland territories. Designed by architects Giovanni and Leo Marucci, the works focused on structural consolidation and seismic improvement to ensure the monument's safety and accessibility.

In addition to structural repairs, the complex now features a new historical-tourist route equipped with information panels, QR codes, and augmented reality content to enhance the visitor experience.
