Roccalumera opposition challenges mayor over infrastructure safety

In Roccalumera, opposition council members have filed a motion against Mayor Giuseppe Lombardo regarding unresolved infrastructure damage following Cyclone Harry. The opposition, including Mariarosaria Sparacino, Francesco Santi, Tiziana Maggio, and Massimo Bellomo, highlighted several public safety hazards.

Specific concerns include non-functional sidewalks along the seafront, potholes caused by uprooted trees, and exposed reinforcement iron on parapet curbs. The councilors also questioned the use of municipal budget funds for repairs instead of specific disaster relief funds, noting that approximately 730,000 euros were allocated for cleaning and restoring the Cristoforo Colombo seafront.
