Roccasecca political parties oppose Cerreto landfill reopening

Political parties in the Frosinone province, including the Democratic Party (PD) and Forza Italia, have expressed unified opposition to the potential reopening of the Cerreto landfill in Roccasecca. Local leaders from the PD in Roccasecca, San Giovanni Incarico, and Colfelice have formally requested that the Lazio Region identify alternative waste management solutions.

Representatives argue that the territory has historically borne a disproportionate environmental and epidemiological burden by managing a significant portion of Rome's waste. The opposition calls for a shift toward smaller-scale facilities focused on recycling and reuse to support increased waste separation efforts.
