Chicago White Sox top prospects Roch Cholowsky and Billy Carlson shut down

The Chicago White Sox have announced that two of their top minor league prospects, Roch Cholowsky and Billy Carlson, will be shut down for the remainder of the 2026 season due to injuries.

Roch Cholowsky, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, is sidelined with a right wrist issue. Cholowsky had recently made his professional debut with the High-A Winston-Salem Dash, appearing in nine games.

Billy Carlson, ranked as the organization's No. 3 prospect, is being shut down to manage a skin infection and subsequent treatment. Carlson, a first-round pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, has spent the season playing for the Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.
