Roche presents new real-world data on faricimab for retinal diseases
Roche has released new real-world data from the ‘Voyager’ study regarding the efficacy, durability, and safety of faricimab. The study focused on treating neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), diabetic macular edema (DME), and retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
In the nAMD and DME cohorts, treatment-naïve patients showed improvements in both vision and central foveal thickness (CST) after 12 months. Patients previously treated maintained or improved visual capacity alongside anatomical benefits. For RVO, both variants demonstrated clinical benefits after six months of treatment. In central/hemispheric RVO, vision and CST improved regardless of prior treatment history. In branch RVO, naïve patients saw visual and anatomical improvements, while previously treated patients experienced visual stability and improved CST.
These findings, presented at the Euretina Annual Congress in Vienna, suggest that the efficacy and safety observed in pivotal Phase III clinical trials translate effectively to global clinical practice.
