Rochester man arrested with stolen handgun and drugs
A 23-year-old man, Dekesaid Binion, was arrested in Rochester, New York, early Saturday morning after fleeing from police. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. while officers were monitoring a crowd on North Clinton Avenue.
According to police, Binion attempted to evade officers on Hoeltzer Street, discarding a satchel during his flight. Upon his arrest in a backyard, officers recovered the bag, which contained a loaded .45 caliber Colt handgun, suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and a digital scale. A serial number check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen in Pennsylvania.
Binion faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd degrees, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree. He was previously ineligible to possess a firearm in New York due to a prior drug conviction. Following his arraignment in Rochester City Court, he was released from the Monroe County Jail.
