Rochester, MN Parks Close Chester Woods Beach and Silver Lake Splash Pad

Officials in Rochester, Minnesota said the swimming beach at Chester Woods Park was shut down after a water sample tested outside normal limits. The beach will remain closed until further lab results, expected Thursday, confirm that water quality is safe.

The Silver Lake Park splash pad was also closed because a mechanical component failed. The city has ordered a replacement part and plans to reopen the splash pad once the part is installed. Nearby splash pads at Lincolnshire Park and Soldiers Field Aquatic Center remain open, and watercraft rentals at Chester Woods continue to operate.

Both closures are described as temporary, and officials indicated they could last for an undetermined period while the issues are resolved.
