Rochester Red Wings clinch first playoff berth since 2013
The Rochester Red Wings have clinched their first postseason berth since 2013, securing the International League’s second-half title with a 15-8 victory over the Buffalo Bisons. The win was fueled by an eight-home run performance, including two home runs from Leandro Pineda, two from Andrew Pinckney, and an inside-the-park home run by Seaver King.
Following the victory, manager Matt LeCroy and his staff celebrated the milestone with a champagne and beer shower. The Red Wings are now set to face the Memphis Red Birds in their playoff opener.
For Rochester fans, the achievement marks a significant moment for the local community, as the team has not won the Governors Cup since 1997. Supporters gathered for watch parties to celebrate the team's return to the playoffs and their pursuit of a championship.
