Rochester traffic stop leads to 1.5-pound methamphetamine seizure

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office deputies seized approximately 1.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Highway 52 North in Rochester, Minnesota. The stop occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening and was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Following a K-9 sniff that prompted a vehicle search, law enforcement discovered the drugs and $2,320 in cash. The driver, 37-year-old Kerry Bittrich of Rochester, was taken into custody and booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.

Bittrich, who was serving supervised release following a 2018 drug conviction in Steele County, faces charges of first-degree drug sales and first-degree drug possession. His bail was set at $100,000 during his initial court appearance.
