Rochester woman charged with felony fleeing after traffic stop
Latasha Kenetta Elder, a 37-year-old woman, has been charged with felony fleeing and misdemeanor driving without insurance following an incident in Rochester, Minnesota.
The incident began on the night of September 17 when an automated license plate reader flagged a vehicle registered to an individual with a revoked license. A police officer initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver fail to signal during a lane change. After initially pulling over and stating she did not have an insurance card, Elder allegedly fled the scene.
According to court documents, the pursuit reached speeds of at least 85 mph and included running a red light at the intersection of 4th St. and 11th Ave. SE. The officer terminated the chase to ensure public safety. Elder is scheduled for her first court appearance in January.
