While music production often involves months of meticulous arrangement and studio time, several notable rock and metal albums have been recorded in remarkably short timeframes.

The White Stripes recorded their fourth studio album, ‘Elephant’, in approximately 14 days at London’s Toe Rag Studios. Utilizing an 8-track machine, the band produced hits such as ‘Seven Nation Army’ during this period. Similarly, Iron Maiden completed their self-titled debut album in 13 days, a feat aided by the band’s extensive experience performing the material live.

Other artists have achieved even faster results. Black Sabbath famously tracked their debut album in half a day, while some rock and metal records have been recorded in less than a week, with one instance reportedly taking only three hours to complete the studio recording process.
