Rock festivals energize Ribeirão Preto and Contagem, Brazil

Rock Brasil Somos Tão Jovens Contagem rock festival Insanos MC Motony MG

The band Somos Tão Jovens will stage the "Rock Brasil" show on 9 June at the Theatro Pedro II in Ribeirão Preto. The performance mixes live music with a recreated 1980s FM‑radio atmosphere, featuring classic Brazilian rock songs, a mock radio booth and period video clips. Tickets are priced at R$ 30 for adults and R$ 15 for students.

In Contagem, the Shopping do Avião will host a free two‑day rock festival on 6‑7 June. The event includes a ceremony for the Insanos MC motorbike club and celebrates the three‑year anniversary of the Motony MG club. Performing groups such as Bon Jovem, HH, Back2Rock, Coyotes Synth Pop Rock, Stone Face, Alma Negra, Wild Mary, Mixtape, Lado B and Hangar 4 will play throughout the day, with additional food stalls offering grilled ribs and regional snacks.
