Rock & Dão festival debuts in Viseu with music and wine

The inaugural Rock & Dão festival took place on September 18 and 19 in Viseu, Portugal, held at Santiago Park. The event aimed to combine music with the regional culinary and wine traditions of the Viseu Dão-Lafões area.

The musical lineup featured both national and international artists, including MIKA, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Delfins, Cassete Pirata, David Bruno, Ganso, and Samuel Úria. The festival sought to establish itself as a major event in the country's cultural calendar by offering a diverse range of genres such as pop, rock, hip hop, and reggae.

In addition to the performances, the festival highlighted local gastronomy and viticulture. Curators Chef Luís Almeida and João Oliveira focused on showcasing regional products, including indigenous grape varieties like Encruzado and Alfrocheiro, as well as local specialties such as kid goat, wild mushrooms, and regional nuts.
