Rock en Seine introduces audio description for visually impaired fans

The Rock en Seine music festival has introduced audio description services to improve accessibility for blind and visually impaired attendees. Through a partnership with the Association Valentin Haüy, festival-goers can use provided headsets and devices to receive live narrations of the performances.

These descriptions cover visual elements that music alone cannot convey, such as artist costumes, stage decor, movements, and interactions with the crowd. The initiative aims to reduce the frustration felt by visually impaired spectators who previously found large-scale festivals difficult to navigate or enjoy.

This service joins other inclusion efforts at the festival, such as vibrating vests and sign language interpretation. The audio description program provides real-time commentary for various acts throughout the event.
