Rock music anthems through the decades

Music history highlights the creation of iconic rock anthems that defined different eras. In Poland, the song ‘Autobiografia’ by the band Perfect became a generational hit. Written by Bogdan Olewicz with music by Zbigniew Hołdys, the track faced censorship during the PRL era, which forced changes to the original lyrics.

On a global scale, the turn of the millennium saw the rise of nu-metal and genre-blending rock. Key anthems for the millennial generation include Linkin Park’s ‘In the End’ from the album ‘Hybrid Theory’, known for its fusion of rap and metal, and Limp Bizkit’s ‘Take a Look Around’, which gained further prominence through its inclusion on the ‘Mission: Impossible 2’ soundtrack.
