Rock music endures as cultural force and live‑performance draw in Spain and Mexico

Rock continues to evolve as a cultural and commercial force. Anthropologist Rodrigo Marcial Jiménez traced its roots from the blues of the American South to the British Invasion, highlighting milestones such as Woodstock in 1969 and Mexico’s Avándaro Festival, which gave Spanish‑language rock its own identity.

Irish band Fontaines D.C. will perform on 13 August in Iruñea (Pamplona), Spain, as part of a limited‑date tour promoting their new album Romance.
